Cellar Door Tasting with The Winemaker
Cellar Door Tasting
$25 for pp | Open 11am - 5pm daily
An intimate tasting experience with vigneron and winemaker James Sweetapple, offering a deeper insight into the wines, the vineyard, and the philosophy behind Cargo Road.
Enjoy a curated selection of 6–8 wines, guided personally by James as he shares his approach to farming, the nuances of each vintage and the stories behind the wines. This is a more relaxed, conversational tasting, shaped by your interests and curiosity.
Slow down, take in the view, and taste the wines where they’re grown. Settle in overlooking the vines, enjoy your charcuterie board and let the afternoon unfold.
There is no set time limit on your visit. You’re welcome to relax and enjoy the space at your own pace.
Non-drinking guests and children are welcome. We offer a small selection of non-alcoholic options.
We are dog friendly. Please be mindful we have a resident dog, Mina the kelpie, who may be around the cellar door.
Bookings are recommended on weekends and during busy periods.

About Cargo Road Wines
Established in 1983 at 860 metres
on the sheltered northern slopes of Mount Canobolas, Cargo Road Vineyard is
planted on deep red basalt soils and remains proudly unirrigated. All of our
wines are estate grown. Sustainability has been at the heart of our farming
since the beginning, and in 2013 we adopted Holistic Management to further our
regenerative approach to viticulture, caring for the land we are privileged to
steward.
